From the closet of Rebecca of Mommy in Heels
Hard to believe I am even thinking of winter already. Seems like yesterday we were lighting sparklers for the 4th of July! I know winter (or at least the brutal winter weather) is a little far away, but I wanted to plan ahead. Every year, once the first significant snowfall happens, I am kicking myself because I don’t have proper winter boots.
Not this year! I am determined to get a pair of winter boots so I am ready when the time comes. And also so my size is still available. I swear my size is the first to go all the time!
I did some research and rounded up my top four winter boot selections. With the exception of one, they are a little on the higher end, price wise. This is something I am willing to spend a little more money on, because the boots I purchase, I plan on having for several years. I feel like winter boots isn’t something (like a shirt, or a cute purse), that you buy new every so often. For me, that isn’t going to happen!!
For the most part, they all have similarities, with the exception of the Hunter Rain Boots. Alone, those do not keep your feet warm at all. To ‘winterize’ your Hunter’s you can purchase a pair of their boot socks. That is a more inexpensive way to add winter boots to your closet. Of course they aren’t true winter boots, but they get the job done and at a fraction of the cost (if you already own Hunters).
Sorel’s (top left) have a great reputation-they are waterproof and have a faux fur lining for added warmth (and style). While a little pricier, I think they will last!
Target (top right) also sells their own version, which are super wallet friendly and do the same job as the Sorel’s.
Lastly are the Croc’s. I know-Crocs. I never in a million years thought that I would even remotely like a pair of Crocs. But they are just so darn cute! Waterproof, sealed seams for good measure, sherpa lined. I am sold!
Have you found any winter boots that you swear by? I’d love to hear them!
