As I designed each of my children’s rooms, one of the things that I wanted to be sure to include was something they would be able to grow up with. I wanted something that if they wanted they could take and put in their own homes one day. One of my favorite things to use is artwork, classic pieces of fine art to be more specific. Artwork that you wouldn’t typically see in a child’s room. I grew up with a picture painted by Paul Klee, a fine artist from the expressionist movement, hanging on the wall in my room so it felt so natural. And goodness have I found some incredible paintings!
Today I’d like to share my latest favorite… a perfectly pink bedroom inspired by Poppy Fields painted by Claude Monet. A simple, serene, beautiful view of nature spotted with lovely pink and red poppies complete with a lovely mother and child exploring the outdoors. What a perfect scene for a child to grow up with right??

My goal with this space was to create something serene, bright, cheerful, and feminine. I wanted something that modernized the traditional feel of the painting while keeping it young yet not child-ish. The trendy chevron fabric and simple sleek crib help to keep the space feeling young and fresh while the international feeling found in both the rug and dream catcher add a sense of texture and exotic-ness helping to bring in a slight bohemian flair. The feminine peach and pink colors help to bring in a cheery youthfulness that is perfect for a nursery!
