Last week, I talked about 5 Ways to Stay Motivated to accomplish your goals. This year, my goal is to work on my fitness. There isn’t necessary a “weight” or a “size” that I would like to be. I just want to be healthy and to physically be able to do more. One thing that I have found really helps to inspire me to work out is having all the stuff I need in one place. That way there is absolutely NO excuse! It doesn’t matter if I plan on going to the gym, if I take my stuff to school so I can work out on my plan time, or if I plan on staying home. My stuff is always together and ready to go. My gym bag contains the following:
1. Clothes- One of my biggest excuses is that I can’t find anything to wear. I pack up enough clothes in my bag to work out for the entire week so there is no getting out of it.
2. Shoes- You HAVE to have comfy shoes unless you work out barefoot (which I do if I am doing yoga or Pilates). I love Nike Free’s because they come in so many cute colors and they are SO light!
3. Yoga Mat- I LOVE doing yoga and Pilates. Years ago I found Casey over at Blogilates and I have been hooked ever since. Even if I haven’t done it religiously, I try to add them in every now and then!
4. Facial Cleanser- Whether it’s pore cleansing wipes or face wash, this one is a must for me. I have the worst skin. I break out if I even think about touching my face. I know that sweating definitely doesn’t help either. That is why I keep face wash in my bag at all times!
5. Towel- This is another must. Nobody wants to walk around, or get back in their car all sweaty and gross.
6. Hair Accessories- I am constantly battling with my hair. I see these girls working out in the gym with their hair down and perfect, then I look in the mirror to see my frizzed out locks…it’s not a good look. I try to prevent the frizz and the loose hair as much as possible by using non-slip hair bands and hair ties.
7. Deodorant and Body Spray- Again, nobody wants to walk around all stinky and sweaty.
8. iPod- I LOVE music. It is a must for me during a workout. It keeps me motivated and helps the time pass much faster.
These are just some of my standard items that I keep in my gym bag, but I’m sure i’m forgetting something.
