This year will be my 11th Valentine’s Day with my husband. We started out dating as college kids, splurging on the once-per-year date to The Melting Pot and that quickly became our annual tradition. But add in some kids with the twist of a pandemic and things quickly change over the years!

This year is going to be different for so many, but why not celebrate the holiday at home with some yummy treats and good wine? What more could you need!

If you’ve been following, you know that we think dessert boards are beautiful, so we just had to make another one for Valentine’s Day!

To make your own board, it’s really simple! I found everything at Target (of course!). Grab some mini cupcakes and candy with pretty colored wrappers – I went for golds and other metallics like Hershey’s hearts and Ferraro Rocher chocolates for a pop! I took some of the candies out of the wrapper — like the white chocolate hearts and the raspberry Kit Kat’s.

Next, start piling! Tips for a pretty board:

  • Separate similar colors on opposite sides of the board!
  • Place contrasting colors on top of others, for example, place a colored candy – like the red Swedish Fish hearts- on top of white chocolate!
  • Fill in gaps with smaller candies such as colored M&M’s!

And of course, no date night can be complete without a great glass of wine! Grab a couple different bottles and have a fun sampling at home with your dessert tray! Throw on a movie and make a fun night out of it!

We ordered our wine through Winc! Winc is the best option for any stay at home date night! Winc is a wine subscription service tailored to your palate! Starting with a quiz, Winc chooses the best options for you and ships them to your door!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
