As I get ready to head to St. Maarten for the week ahead, I can’t help but have swimsuits on my mind. While they aren’t my most favorite to try on, it is necessary.
I remember one time when I was in college I was trying on bikinis and I didn’t want to come out of the fitting room to show Ryan (what I wouldn’t give to have that body back!). The saleslady said “if you can’t come out in the fitting room how are you going to be able to wear it in public?” Touche. So ever since then I just put on a brave face when I try swimwear on.
When I can, I order online. I pretty much know my one-piece size so the risk isn’t terrible. I also just make sure of the return policy before I buy. More often than not though, I luck out, and I don’t even need to leave my house!
I also love how one piece bathing suits aren’t like what our Moms used to wear. Each summer the styles and options have only been getting better and better! I remember when I was younger (and able to wear a bikini) that I thought it must be terrible to have to wear a one piece, mainly because the styles and selection were terrible. Not the case anymore!
While I don’t mind spending a little more on a one piece (because I like a good quality swimsuit), I do still love a good bargain! Target’s online selection has been really great-in store is a hit or miss, so I tend to browse their online selection more than when I am in the store for groceries (because you can obviously find bread in the women’s section).
Here are a few of my faves (and for a sizing reference, I am typically a large in women’s and an XL in juniors):
