Styling Four Ways: Black Midi Skirt

From the closet of Rebecca of Mommy in Heels

I know I sound like a broken record, but being able to purchase something and know that I will get so much wear out of it is pretty awesome, especially when it is affordable. Usually though when I buy something, I try to picture in my mind at least two ways to wear it.

Midi skirts are everywhere this summer. For me, I love the length- it feels like I am wearing a shorter skirt, without actually exposing my legs (which I am not a fan of). A basic black one is a good piece to have in your closet because it can be easily transitioned from season to season by doing something simple like adding tights or boots for the colder months.

I took your basic black midi skirt and styled it four different ways for you, so you can actually see how versatile it really is! Plus, nothing I paired with the midi skirt is over $50!

Outfit 1:

Crop Top /// Midi Skirt /// Sunglasses /// Denim Jacket /// Necklace /// Heels

Outfit 2:

Tee /// Midi Skirt /// Jacket /// Bag /// Sneakers

Outfit 3:

Shirt /// Midi Skirt /// Hat /// Wedges /// Bracelet

Outfit 4:

Top /// Midi Skirt /// Necklace /// Sunglasses /// Sandals

I was initially against the whole crop top trend, but worn correctly it can be pretty fabulous. Paired with the midi skirt, there isn’t a need to worry that you will be baring all for the world to see!

Graphic tee’s are also a great item to keep in your closet because they can be worn with anything from broken in jeans to something dressier like the midi skirt! To make a graphic tee super casual you can pair it with some Converse sneakers like I did, or even a pair of cute sandals, a plain denim jacket or denim vest (for the super hot days).

Accessories like a fedora or a statement necklace are also easy pieces to add to an outfit to change the whole look and vibe!
