Today, we are letting the designer of RedPoppy take over and share with you all the details about her amazing handmade company — all the way from Aussie!
ABOUT:
RedPoppy was a dream I had almost 4 years ago that has now established into a thriving business that I thoroughly enjoy and am so proud of.
Back in 2009 my 3rd child was born and I had taken maternity leave for 12 months.
During this time I began to get itchy palms for something to create. As a Painter, Artist and previous Art Teacher I grew a huge appreciation for colour. This is what attracted me so much to textiles and design.
I started out by making my girl friends little handbags and clutches for their Christmas presents and became so fond of the prints and the continuous availability of quality fabrics that I proceeded with eagerness.
Not long after, a clever friend suggested to set up a Facebook page and now I am currently celebrating 2915 likers. With all the changes to Facebook I decided to go the extra mile and set up a website.
With great success at an early stage I wanted to create more avenues to reach my customers and started with Handbag parties, a wonderful and very effective way to showcase my handcrafts to a captive and enthusiastic audience. This way the customer could see and feel the works at hand and fabric also.
I am also currently stocking two boutiques here on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
My dream for RedPoppy is to one day design exclusively for a high end label or celebrity. Or to even open a boutique with a wide range of fabrics and catalogues to view, so that I can meet and greet every customer and have the one on one with them for their custom orders while continuing my online business for my loyal overseas and nationwide customers too.
WHAT I DO:
Here at RedPoppy the design capabilities are endless! You can have your bag designed just the way you like it, add a pocket, zip or embellishment. Subtract a feature or send in your ideas! All patterns are designed from scratch allowing all ideas to be adapted and modified. Then once you’ve decided on your design, head over to the fabrics and choose your accompanying fabrics to build your unique bag that no-one else has!
The fabrics are all high quality cottons, from Designers like Michael Miller, MODA, Amy Butler and more! If there is something in particular that you are after, I will do my best to source it for you. These bags are a lightweight but sturdy bag that will last for years and are machine washable!
Fabric though? you might think! -well this opens up so many doors! You can have your clutch made to match your special outfit, imagine an evening clutch that completes your outfit, one that will compliment your gown or match your shoes! Fabric gives so much flexibility when it comes to fashion trends, it’s affordable and keeps up with the endless changes of fashionable prints and colours! Meaning you can have one for every outfit!
