Sometimes there are moments in life that hit you dead on and you just can’t escape it no matter how hard you try! That’s how Seriously Happy brand began! During a friend’s struggles with the way people were treating her, old wise one here decided to offer the only bit of wisdom I could think of! I told her to let them that she was seriously happy and go on about her business. At that moment, we both had an Oprah a-ha moment and her first reaction was, “your new line should be Seriously Happy tees!” And so in September 2014, Seriously Happy Tees was born! Seriously Happy just stuck! I also came to the realization that “seriously” was apparently my family’s favorite word and we all use it way more than I should admit!
Who’s behind Seriously Happy brand: That would be me, Chelsea, and I’m first a wife of a coach, teacher, and the hardest working man I know, Shane. He makes me proud to be by his side daily and a lot of my drive for Seriously Happy brand is for him. Hard work is in his blood but my hope is to grow my brand so that one day he can take a few things off his plate! I’m also a mom of 3 crazy and precious kids. I have Finley who just turned 11 and is in the pre-teen stage in every sense of the word which scares me to my bones but at the same time it’s amazing to watch a little woman grow. Then there’s Miley who is almost 7… she’s the actress and entertainer of the family. She’s wild, spunky with the sweetest smile you ever did see. Last, we have Mac! My little guy is a mama’s boy to the core and he’s a kid who will make you want 100 if they would all be just like him! He brings me flowers, he’s my big helper and he tells me I’m “uetiful” every day. Even at only 2, he makes me realize that even in the stress of being a wife, mom, and a business owner, there’s something to be “seriously happy” about every day.
My hope for this brand is to bring you a little peace and joy to all those around just by simply wearing a tee! I want it to be something you can throw on with your favorite yoga pants as you head to Target or even pair it with some hot pants, heals and a huge statement necklace for date night. I want it to be a part of your family’s wardrobe in hopes that it will spread the love! I mean, could you be rude to someone whose shirt was screaming they are “Seriously Happy” back at you? Of course not! But if you could…. well you might need some Jesus! You’ll see that some of the designs are verse inspired which in turn could be a witness to someone else. We Jesus folk get a bad rap sometimes because we aren’t perfect when it comes to a #wwjd situation. But I’m here to say that we are all human and just maybe these tees will be a reminder to love one another as Christ loves us.
It’s ok to be human. Am I at church every time the doors are open…no mam, I am not. But do I love Jesus with my whole being? You bet! Do I slip a curse word when I stub my toe? Yep, guilty of that one too. Have I totally let my emotions get the best of me even though I felt like I had a valid reason? Sure thing, and I walked right out of Target with my head held down in shame dragging all 3 of my kids!
You’ll quickly learn that I like to keep it real although I strive every day to live a life my Creator will be proud of but I fail miserably most of the time. I am, however, incredibly blessed with the life I have been given and it’s about time I share and give back. Witnessing and honestly, just being open with people period has been a struggle for myself and so many others but I hope these tees will help open a door to conversations we never fathomed.
Imagine what life would be like if we were all just Seriously Happy…
