Small Business Spotlight // Francie & Co + $50 Shop Credit Giveaway

My name is Nicole Rees and I am the owner of Francie & Co. My company focuses on the creation of fancy handmade children’s teepees. The most important thing to know about me is that I am family focused. That is the reason I started making them is to create a special place for my girls.

This is reflected in every teepee I create in my sewing room. I take my time in designing and sewing each piece as if I were making it for my own children who will then someday pass it on to their children. This means paying attention to details, quality, and even seam ripping when necessary to deliver a quality handmade product to every client.

My design process starts with the client and their wants and needs. Once I have an idea of what he or she would like to see in the teepee, I add my own creative touches that result in a unique Francie & Co. design. Past clients have told me the secret ingredient in my teepees is the way I mix and match colors and patterns. This also happens to be one of the things I love about my job. The creative process is fun and exciting. I am continually trying new ideas combinations in an effort to perfect my design process. It also helps that my clients are creative people in their own right who consistently inspire my work.

The mission and vision of Francie & Co is to create quality teepees to increase children’s joy and fun at home with family and friends. Our teepees are a place to gather for story-time, laughs, and family togetherness. I view each teepee as a work of art.

Everyone I make is a handmade labor of love. I want each teepee to be unique just like the person it’s going to. No two teepees are alike. I do all the work inclusive of painting the sticks, designing the tassels, hours of sewing, down to boxing and shipping them out to customers. At times I’ve recruited my husband but when I’m busy with orders there is a lot of daddy~daughter time at home.

Francie & Co. teepees are kid tested and approved as my own 3 girls spend hours in them. They are also decorative and can be the centerpiece of any room by adding colorful character to your home’s decor. No matter what home my teepees end up in, I hope they will continue to brighten the day of kids and families everywhere.
