Hello! I’m Teri, owner and operator behind Camp Corn Dog. I’m a wife, and mom to Olivia (2) and Liam (5 months). I received a sewing machine a couple years ago for Mother’s Day and it sat in my closet for a year or so until I was pregnant with my son and I decided to teach myself how to sew to pass the time. I made crib sheets, pillow cases, infinity scarfs, you name it. I made a headband for myself because I had leftover scraps and fully take advantage of getting away with the lazy Mom-bun. I realized how cute they were and began stepping up my fabric game.
I create headbands for adults and kids made from organic cotton knit in pretty and funky prints. I’ve recently dipped my toes in the graphic T-shirt market and can’t wait to get my ideas out there for all the trendy tots. Hilarious kid’s shirts are my weakness. It’s always scary putting your ideas out there but the feedback I’ve received from my customers is amazing. It is truly rewarding to be able to turn a hobby into a passion and into a full time business.
The name Camp Corn Dog comes from a blend of my childhood and my children’s. Growing up in Minnesota I lived at the lake on a boat sleeping in a tent under the stars after a day of making s’mores around a bonfire. When I’m not sewing I’m working in our family’s business making corn dogs at state fairs around the United States. My kids travel with us and are growing up with memories on the midway.
The first shirt I ever designed is my ‘State Fair Flair’ shirt perfect for kids at the fair, carnival, circus, festival, etc. I felt this was the perfect shirt for my new and booming little company I care so much about. I cannot wait to see where else this hectic but rewarding adventure will take me.
