There’s something incredibly delicious about using fresh produce and ingredients to make something from scratch. This Raspberry Ice Cream is not an exception it’s creamy, packed with flavor and so mouthwateringly good that you’ll want to make it and eat it every day.
For me, the secret to the punch of flavor is using fresh raspberries. I bought mine from the Farmers Market. The better the raspberries, the better your ice cream will come. However on those times that I’ve been pressed of time for that and I couldn’t find beautiful raspberries I have used frozen ones as well, and the result has been pretty good too.
I also like to add a bit of vanilla extract to the ice cream to add more depth of flavor. That way we not only get the tart, fresh burst of raspberry but we also get the vanilla hints and oh my gosh it’s so good that’s totally worth the little extra step.
Another great thing that’s a must add? The heavy cream. While most ice creams are made with only milk, I also like to add heavy cream, and I can’t recommend you enough to do the same. The texture, oh my gosh the texture changes so much when you also add it to your ice cream. It goes from an average ice cream to one made by a complete ice cream Pro (yep, even if you are not one) and there’s nothing better than knowing that something you whipped up with your hands is so so so good!

Raspberry Ice Cream
Ingredients
3 Cups raspberries
1½ Cups sugar
2 Cups milk
2 Cups heavy cream
1½ Tsp vanilla extract
Directions
In a bowl place ½ cup of sugar with the raspberries and mash them together. Set aside.
In a different bowl mix 1 cup of sugar with the milk, until the sugar is dissolved.
Pour in the heavy cream and mix for 1 minute.
Add the vanilla extract and the mashed raspberries. Mix everything together for 2 minutes.
Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker bowl and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Serve and enjoy.
