Nanny Necessities

As most of you know I am no mother – however I have been an aunt for 12 years (all of my teenage and adult life)! I have learned so much but still at times feel like I know nothing about the trickery of raising littles. But let me tell you, I have learned what actual things make life a little easier on those tough days!

Somehow it took me…I don’t know 4 girls to get the hair thing down. Seriously. Oh and don’t worry only 2 have unruly hair – not all of them! So when we discovered The Knot Genie – it was like um what?! The coolest. Not only does the brush LOOK different (so the girls don’t mind when I come charging at them with “the brush”) – but they love the fun colors OH and the fact that it doesn’t hurt or tear their hair! Perfection for those curly-q’s & plain ol’ bed heads.  Now don’t get me wrong I love a good ol’ Knot Genie but after their bath, a few sprays of detangler won’t hurt nobody! And sometimes I wonder how hard Sadie…the two year old…actually scrubbed her head so at least the Aussie Detangler Spray makes it smell clean. It’s the best! My go-to detangler. For a nanny and aunt – I take whatever I can get break wise. So when it’s time for a bath, I stocked up on toys & some quality bubble bath. Seriously sitting on the bathroom floor is one fabulous break, when you know – breaks don’t actually exist. For when all the toys need a home, I found this fab Bath Toy Bin that is a little more subtle than[soliloquy id=”null”] them big ol lady bugs hanging on your shower wall!

With 3 kids on my hip everyday, they all officially have their own set of dishes, the one I featured here is Grayson’s (and from the motherland), Target. It is SO durable and hefty – so he won’t just toss if off the table when he is done. Call me crazy but having their own plates, cups & flatware to use throughout the day is much easier than using a different dish for every snack and meal. I promise I spend 80% (if not more) of my day in the kitchen – give thanks to open house plans.

As for nap time, Little Giraffe is key for an instant snooze fest. Grab their new Dolce LOVE blanket and any little one  be sleeping sound in no time. What’s not to love?
