Hi! My name is Jeanne DeFauw. HopSkipJumpPaper began after my oldest son was born. I was looking for something creative to do during his naps (he was a great sleeper!). I have a background in graphic design, including a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and 10+ years working in advertising and corporate marketing.
I dreamed of owning my own business and thought Etsy would be a great place to start. Initially, I created art for children, specifically for nurseries, since I was immersed in the world of babies.
When I was thinking of other art to create, the line “I Love You From Here To” stuck out in my mind. It’s something my husband said to me all the time, usually using an obscure location far, far away. It was a sweet saying that I loved to hear. I wondered if others felt the same way. I created a couple of prints and was happily surprised at the immediate response.
After the success of the travel prints, I branched out into greeting cards and sports + travel themed art. The response has been amazing. I’m very grateful to be able to work for myself and spend time with my boys, while creating handmade items that are loved by people all over the world.
