From Flip flops to High Heels

I recently shared a quirt, er secret, with my readers on my blog about how I never go anywhere without wearing heels. Whether it’s wedges or heels, if I’m headed out the door chances are I’m rocking one or the other. For the longest times it’s been because I have an “I’m short” complex, I’m 5’2″ and then it was because I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. I felt if I was taller, I’d look skinnier and I often time sacrificed comfort so I could achieve this. Then in February of this year I began my fitness journey, and the more fit I got and inches I lost (over 10 inches), the more confident I became and the importance of comfort slowly came sliding back into the forefront of my mind. So when I was asked to work with the beautiful lady behind Kiki La Rue to style a couple of my favorite dresses from her shop, I immediately jumped at the chance to work with her and to show how easy it can be to style a day to night look. From flats to heels as we’ll call it.

I know you might be thinking that this dress is silk and therefore to fancy to rock during the day. Umm, heck no! Rock it girl! I mean, if you had this one with a pair of cute sandals that showed off a pop of fun color when your man walks through the door after work, YEOW! He’ll be giving you a Kiki La Rue allowance for sure! Throwing on a cute pair of sandals that allows you to color block and give a little pop of color can make any dress fun to wear all day long. I paired it with some gold bracelets to match the gold in my sandals, color blocked with my aqua strap and I’m on my way to run errands all over town!

Now let’s go from day-to-night. Ladies, it does NOT need to be complicated!!! All I did was tossel (is that a word? You catch my drift) my hair, add some hairspray, throw on a cute aqua necklace for a pop of color blocking goodness and added my favorite pair of nude heels. Every closet, I repeat, every closet should have a cute pair of nude heels. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Just like that I’m ready for a night out with my man or my girlfriends!

The other dress I got has quickly become one of my utmost favorite dresses ever! I wear it every chance I get. During the day I style it with coral sandals and then again, with just a add of a cute coral necklace and my nude heels and I’m ready for a night out on the town. If I was you, I would buy this dress just because the back is so amazing!

See how easily Kiki La Rue can fit into your everyday wardrobe?! If I were you I’d head over and do a little shopping.

Which look is your favorite?

Are you a flats person or a heels person like me?

Thanks for letting me pop by and share today Casi!
