creative parties :: inspired entertaining
We first “meet” Camille on Twitter over a year ago. She had us at the first tweet.Immediately smitten and in love with everything she does – we became her biggest fan. If you haven’t heard of Camille Styles, you can thank us later when you end up browsing the site for hours. Beautiful. Inspiring. And just Perfection. That about sums about Camille and her styles. We were thrilled to sit down in cyber space for a little chat to get to know Camille, and the inspiration behind the one-of-a-kind blog. It’s in a class of its own. Meet Camille Styles!
1. Introduce us to Camille, the stylish gal behind Camille Styles!
As the founder of Camille Styles, my passion is to bring creativity, inspiration and stress-free style to our readers around the globe. I’m a firm believer that parties are supposed to be fun! When I’m not styling a photo shoot, testing new recipes or working on client projects for Camille Styles Events, I’m scouring the streets of Austin and beyond for the most delicious, innovative and chic finds to share with our readers!

2. Tell us about your beautiful blog, the inspiration behind it and when you realized, this is what you wanted to do.
I launched Camille Styles three years ago, and while it’s certainly evolved over time as we’ve grown and refined our editorial content, we’ve stayed true to our original vision of inspiring readers with a lifestyle that’s about stylish, fun entertaining. I initially started my blog as a way to market my own event company, Camille Styles Events, and after that first year, everything began to take flight! I once heard that you should figure out what you’d want to spend all day doing if money were out of the equation … and then find a way to get paid for doing that very thing. For me, it’s helping our readers celebrate both the big moments in life and the everyday experiences in unforgettable ways.

3. What are some of your favorite blogs, besides cupcakeMAG, of course?
This is Glamorous: Roséline always manages to find the most gorgeous images I’ve ever seen. Her daily posts leave me breathless.
Oh Happy Day!: I’m a huge fan of Jordan’s whimsical, creative approach to parties and crafts. Her projects are always simple, and always genius.
Sunday Suppers: One of my favorite photographers & food stylists, Karen Mordechai, heads up this cooking class experience. Each post is brimming with the most brilliant, seasonal food that makes me want to head to the nearest farmer’s market and start cooking.
4. Currently, what are your favorite pins on Pinterest?
Lush Garden Roses | Peach Dress | Pink & Yellow Donuts | Romantic Place Setting

5. What are your tips for throwing a super-stylish party?
The absolute most important thing is to relax and have a great time; as the hostess, you set the tone, and if you’re having a blast, your guests will, too. Other quick tips: (1) plan a menu where everything can be prepared before guests arrive, (2) set out a self-serve bar and let guests be their own mixologists, and (3) don’t be afraid to not make dessert yourself: my go-to dinner party dessert is fresh berries with a variety of store-bought sorbets.

6. Do you have a favorite DIY project that you just can’t get enough of?
Right now, I’m in love with my gilded business cards. It’s a surprisingly simple DIY! They make me happy every time I hand one out, and my mind is swirling with ideas for what other items I can edge with a golden touch.

7. Right now, what are a few things you just can’t live without?
My buttery soft Céline tote, a Christmas gift from my husband. Nars lipstick in Pago Pago. Cappuccinos. Greek yogurt with strawberries and walnuts. My monthly print mag subscriptions to Vogue, Vanity Fair and Food & Wine.
8. What is up next for your team and Camille Styles?
First and foremost, we’re continuing to focus on creating inspiring and innovative content for our site on a daily basis. Also, I’m very excited to be the host of HGTV’s new party planning app, launching later this year, which will feature simple yet beautiful videos on how to throw creative soirées.
