I’ve always dreamed of having a spring baby, so when I we found out I was due in April I was ecstatic. To make it convenient for all our guests, most of whom were local, we decided to hold the party at our clubhouse. Although I had a vision of what my baby shower would look like, I didn’t decide on the theme until we started planning the decorations which was Dreamy Spring Nautica. Since we’re having a baby boy, I chose gold, blue and green as the primary colors for the shower. Around the same time I was planning the event, I had the privilege of meeting party decor designer Michelle Mosesso of Luna Wishes Studio. I love her design esthetics so without hesitation I invited her to collaborate with me on my shower. Luckily, Michelle gladly accepted and I couldn’t be happier. Michelle created a beautiful party box full of pretty whimsical decors that matched with the theme which included circle and star garlands, confetti, cupcake toppers, clothes hangers and paper straws.

To add an element of excitement and because I’ve been obsessed with the idea of making my own tassel garlands, I enlisted the help of my husband and girlfriend to help me create them. Initially, I wanted to create two but half way into the first one we realized there was just too effort involved. Our garland took a total of 12 hours to create between 3 people. Together we made approximately 100 garlands although in the end we only used about 80. It was a lot of hard work but something I great treasure! Since spring was part of the theme, I wanted to incorporate flowers so we bought yellow roses from Costco and created some center piece arrangements. They definitely breathed some life and happiness to the decors. The finishing touches of the decors included a cute baby clothes garland and poms poms which my husband helped together. He’s really the best!

One of the main highlights of the shower were the amazing desserts that were made for us by my sister’s friend who runs a private bakery shop from her home. With only a budget of $200, we were able to have two different types of cupcakes, macaroons, cake pops, rice krispy treats, sweet jelly, tiramisu and cookies. Everyone at the party couldn’t rave enough about the sweets. They all tasted so delicious and I couldn’t believe we were able to pull it off with such a tight budget.

For the main food we had traditional Asian cuisines which included noodles, spring rolls, fried chickens, Thai salad, sweet rice and roasted duck. They were filling and super yummy. This was all planned by sister who again managed to get all of this amazing food under $200.

I’m so glad the baby shower came together beautifully and none of it would have been possible without the help my family and friends. We hope you’ll enjoy the photos!
