cupcakeMAG Loves: Oh Ollie Paperworks

Oh Ollie Paperworks is one of our go-to shops when we need gorgeous stationery with natural textures! We love Alissa and her story of truly finding a way to translate her passion for design into a business. She is a great reminder that change is good, and welcome, when you run a creative business!

I’m Alissa Neely: a full time nanny for 3 year old, cutie pie triplets and business owner & designer of Oh Ollie Paperworks.

I started Oh Ollie in 2009 as a Children’s Clothing line – I always had a love/hate relationship with sewing. I loved designing the line & the final product – but, the actual execution is what I found myself dreading. And that’s just a sad way to run a business!

Oh Ollie started evolving into a Paper Design company as I played around with designing cards for the triplet’s first Christmas. I realized then that my love for design was rooted in the visual concept rather than sewing. I learned so much about owning and operating a business through sewing and I wouldn’t trade those days or the transition stage for anything. This truly is my dream job.

My products are set apart from other shops because their designs are inspired by life & growth. Influenced by nature’s raw textures and freshness, the playfulness of children, and by the progression of trends around us.
What I love most about paper design is getting the opportunity to capture people’s personalities and set the stage for a party through custom invitations. {I don’t only do invitations though. Oh Ollie encompasses anything that can be graphically translated onto paper!}
