Hey Y’all! I am Amanda Luton, owner and designer behind Goat & Lulu, my handmade children’s clothing company. I have an intense passion for creating, whether it be sewing, crafting or cooking, and I love to shop, watch tv, and spend time with my children (Brantley-4, Grayson-2, and Bennett-1), husband, Scott, and the rest of our family!
I started Goat & Lulu when I was pregnant with our son, Bennett. I was having a hard time finding matching and coordinating outfits for my children that were of good quality, but that I was going to be able afford, since I was going to be buying three! I have a pretty traditional sense of style when it comes to my babies, and I like for my kids to look like kids! So I pulled out my sewing machine, and began making dresses, rompers, and jon jons, shorts and skirt sets, and jumpers that were affordable, and fun, bright and colorful, but did not overshadow the innocence and beauty of the child.
I draw new inspiration every day. In my new designs, I am inspired by vintage children’s clothing patterns, especially styles from the 1960’s, but love using bright, modern fabrics. I am inspired by the beauty of children, their colorful imaginations and endless energy, and everyday I am inspired by fellow mothers who do so much and work so hard for their families. I look up to other artists and creative minds, and love that through Instagram, and Pinterest, and blogging so many wonderful ideas can be shared and built on, expanded upon, and appreciated.
With Goat & Lulu, I hope to provide quality handmade heirloom items with a classic, but playful style, that mothers will be proud to dress their children in, and that children will love to wear!
