CMBookClub: Delicate Monsters

Written with love by | Chelsea |

Hello Lovelies! I hope you all had a long relaxing weekend celebrating America and eating way too much food. For me, it was spent relaxing and catching up on some great reading! I though I wasn’t going to get a chance to finish our book club read for the month, but it turns out a long weekend was all I needed!

My weekend read was Delicate Monsters by Stephanie Kuehn and it was absolutely fabulous. Although it wasn’t that long ago, I felt like it was back to the teenage years as I read through this book. This book is not a happy-go-lucky, light hearted read. It’s dark and sad and hits you right in the gut. This book is haunting and will stick with you, but it is so well written, that you won’t be able to put it down.

I absolutely loved this book, and while everyone knows I love young-adult lit, this book was more than that. You fall in love with characters that you, in real life, would hate. They aren’t likable but you can’t help but relate to them in the strangest ways.

What did you think of Delicate Monsters? Do you have a book you’d like to see chosen for book club? I’d love to hear about it!

For August, we’ll be reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty!
