From the closet of Rebecce of Mommy in Heels
One piece bathing suits certainly aren’t like they used to be. I remember being younger, and even well into my late teens, and thinking how frumpy and “mom” like one piece bathing suits are! I never wanted to be that woman or that mom who had to succumb to the one piece.
How times have changed! I adore one piece bathing suits now. In fact, that is all I wear! After having two children, I don’t really have the body for a bikini, but also the comfort of a one piece can’t be beat. Whether I am at the pool or the beach (which isn’t as often as I would like), it is just so much easier and more practical to have a one piece- preferably anything but strapless for me. I know nothing is going to accidentally fall out and scare those around me!
A bathing suit is also something I am not afraid to spend money on. Typically I am a bargain shopper, but a swimsuit is something I want to hold up with all of the exposure to chlorine, salt water, washing, drying, etc. To me it is an investment piece- one that I will wear for several summers.
So no need to worry, my fellow fashionista’s. Stylish one pieces are plentiful and here to stay! Here are a few of my favorites.
1. Nanette Lepore via Anthropologie
2. Old Navy Floral Panel Swimsuit
3. Mara Hoffman Front Twist via Zappos
4. Sunshowers for Hours ModCloth suit
5. DKNY One Shoulder via Zappos
6. Nanette Lepore via Zappos
If you haven’t noticed, I kind of love Zappos for their bathing suit selection. Plentiful and diverse! (plus you can’t beat their customer service). I know a lot of people like to try on swimsuits before they buy, but I like buying them and trying them on in the comfort of my own home!
There’s no longer a need to stay away from the one piece bathing suits, ladies! They are as stylish as ever!
