As always we are on the hunt for fresh looks & high fashion, luckily we’ve discovered Kelly Bello Design.
Kelly Bello is the designer behind fine, unique & dainty jewelry. As she calls it, Structured Daintiness – and that it is. Currently we are crushing hard on the Brass Collection which includes the Goal Digger Necklace that I’m rocking in the picture below (paired with Wrenn Jewelry studs). Now not only is the Goal Digger a must have {I mean come on, that is the cutest saying ever} but be sure to also check out The Damn Girl Bracelet. If these pieces don’t scream cupcakeMAG than I don’t know what does!
Kelly Bello has also spread her love for design to Fine Jewelry – that oh I’d love to wear on a few upcoming special occasions. She has created Fine Jewelry pieces from Ear Cuffs to Double Rings to exquisite Necklaces, be sure to give the dreamy pieces a look, here!

Our Chat with Kelly Bello

Kate: Did you always know you wanted to become a fine jewelry designer or did something really pique your interest?
Kelly Bello: No, I didn’t know I wanted to become a fine jewelry designer. Even though ever since I was a little girl accessories have fascinated me. I used to make jewelry and give it to friends to sell in their schools. I would even pick out my accessories first before choosing what to wear. But it really wasn’t until I was in college where I was exposed to all different kinds of material manipulation. However, the one that interest me the most was metal and that’s when I started experimenting more.
Kate: When did you decide it was time to open your own company?
Kelly Bello: Well it all just kind of happened. It all started with the Goal Digger Necklace. I made it for myself and for a couple of friends. After that I started to get more people requesting me to make them one. That’s when I thought why not do this legit. After I finished my bachelors degree at Pratt I decided it was time to start my own company of wearable art-jewelry.
Kate: We noticed that you studied Industrial Design – would you say your attention to detail is what makes your jewelry stand alone?
Kelly Bello: The beauty is in the details, there’s no small or big detail to be overlooked when designing a piece, that’s what makes it a success, a stand alone, one of a kind piece. Through Industrial Design I learned to see things in a different way.
Kate: Do you travel often for inspiration or find all you need in NYC? We have noticed the clean lines in your jewelry – it really brings NYC to life in our eyes.
Kelly Bello: I do travel a lot, I wouldn’t say that I do it specifically for inspiration. Whether I’m traveling for work or pleasure inspiration hits when you least expect it. Definitely, NYC has influenced greatly my most recent collection the Fine Structure Line since I have been living here for the past 5 years, it played a huge part in the design process.
Kate: What has been your favorite experience being an entrepreneur so far?
Kelly Bello: Definitely waking up happy everyday because I’m doing what I love. Everyday day is a new experience, days full of adrenaline from challenges and satisfaction once a solution is found. Also the amazing positive feedback I have received. Taking the leap and putting yourself out there is hard and scary, but it is definitely worth it!
