I’m not a big fan of red meat, but I’m still team bacon all the way. Call me a hypocrite, but a nice crisp piece of bacon just speaks to my meat lovin’ morning side, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. After trying out Brixx Pizza‘s BLT toppings, I was determined to re-create it at home. It has got to be one of my favorite pizza topping combos of all time. Add a little sliced jalapeño for some extra heat if you’re feeling a little adventurous!

BLT Pizza
{serves 2-3}
[ingredients]
_________________________
1 large clove of garlic, roughly chopped
olive oil
4 thick slices of applewood smoked bacon, cooked crisp
1/2 a tomato, sliced and quartered
mozzarella cheese
lettuce, washed and torn
ceasar dressing
sliced jalapeños, optional
[directions]
_________________________
Preheat and Prep. Preheat your oven and place your pizza stone in the oven, if using one. Toss the dough until at the desired thickness and place on parchment paper sprinkled with cornmeal or semolina flour. Crisp bacon and chop the garlic, jalapeños, and tomatoes. Toss torn lettuce with a bit of caesar dressing, to taste.
Top. Brush the entire crust with olive oil and sprinkle with the minced garlic. Spread on the cheese, as much as you prefer, then top with jalapeños {if using} and large sections of bacon and tomato. Sprinkle the tomatoes with a bit of salt and pepper, if desired. Bake according to pizza dough directions {we broil ours at a high temperature because we like a crispy crust}. Remove from the oven and top with the lettuce right before serving. Lettuce will wilt so serve immediately.
