The 4th of July is always so much fun, and one of my earliest memories that I have is me sitting outside the bathroom door, asking my mom a million questions about the 4th of July and fireworks. Even when I was little, it was a fun time full of making memories with family and friends. I’ve gathered a few fun activities to keep the littles occupied during the, sometimes tedious, holiday weekend!
ONE | Relay’s and Races
Spoonful has collected a list of 51 different kinds of relay’s and races for kids to burn off some of that energy that they are sure to obtain from all of the sweet treats of the holiday.
TWO | Find The Flag
Hide flags all over the yard, or indoors if there is inclement weather, and have a scavenger hunt to see who can find the most. If you’re roadtripping it for the holidays, have your kiddos count how many flags they can find on the road. Keeps them occupied while working on counting skills!
THREE | 4th of July Shirts
Kids love to get messy, let them paint their own shirts to wear on the 4th of July!
FOUR | 4th of July Fruit Sculptures
Teach kids about proper nutrition and healthy eating while getting creative. Use toothpicks and patriotic fruits to create edible sculptures
FIVE | Splatter Paint Fireworks
With paper, paint, straws, and some adult supervision, your littles can create their own firework masterpiece.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday weekend. What are your favorite 4th of July traditions?
