There’s no doubt about the fact that makeup can make you look younger and feel prettier. However, we all know that the best makeup is the one that doesn’t show up, and blends into your skin tone. But for that to happen, you need to apply the appropriate color of foundation on your skin. In the following article, we look into a few tips on how you can blend your makeup so that it matches your skin tone in a non-mess, no-fuss manner…

#1: Get the Right Foundation Color

This happens to be the most vital steps of them all. You need to get the right foundation color for your skin. And doing this is no rocket science. All you have to do is walk up to the makeup counter at any department store and talk to the cosmetic salesperson. Let them know you’re looking for help on finding the perfect foundation for you. The easiest and the best way to know this is to work with little dab of foundation along your face’s jaw, and then blend it in with a good quality makeup sponge.

#2: Try It On Your Own

When you know you’ve got your hands on the right color, you’re ready to try it at home. Now, before you put the foundation on your skin, don’t forget to put primer over your skin. This way the color will easily hold. When it comes to actually getting down to applying it, you should make sure there is enough light.

The best way to blend your makeup so that it matches your skintone is to do it while you’re sitting near a window where there’s a good amount of natural sunlight streaming in. The natural sunlight makes it easy for you to see if the foundation is appropriate for your skin and that you’re not applying too little or too much, but just the amount needed.

#3: Work like a Pro

As you sit near the window with the sunlight coming in, make sure you have a mirror at hand so that you’re able to use a foundation brush to lightly begin near your nose and cheekbones and then move forward. If in case you got a blemish, you may want to pay attention to this area more than once after you’re done with the makeup application all over the face. Don’t forget to blend the makeup with your neck area and jawline. Why? Because if you don’t do this, your makeup will look bad.

#4: Touch Up Rough Areas

Once you’re done putting the makeup on your face, you should touch up the rough areas lightly with the Beautyblender sponge, as its elliptical shape will make the whole application process foolproof. Avoid using your fingers (no matter how clean they are) or one of those sharp edged triangular sponges, or else you’ll not only waste makeup but also have visible streaks.

After this, you can apply some “translucent powder” over your face to create a nice, shining glow. Remember, the idea here is to not go too heavy with the makeup – but rather create a natural look.
