You know the saying “when it rains, it pours”?
We’ve all been on the downhill slide of a terrible day. It feels like nothing you do is right, and the slightest thing will set you over the edge. Whether it’s ripping your hose or having a hem come loose, I have 4 (completely random) quick-fixers to keep in your purse for those pesky little problems.
1. Clear Nail Polish– Not only is it great for keeping your nails from chipping, it also stops any runs that might develop in your hose or tights. I am the absolute WORST about ripping my tights and this has saved me from having a minor incident turn into a majorly awkward fashion faux pas.
2. Paper Clips– Whether you lose a button on your jeans (guilty) or you have a pesky zipper that won’t stay zipped, paper clips can be used to discretely keep things in place.
3. Double-Sided Tape– I had a major observation the other day and I looked down at my brand new skirt to see the hem had come loose! I had seriously JUST bought it, and was absolutely crushed to see the hem unravelling. Luckily, I’m a teacher and my classroom is stocked full of the most random things you can imagine. I was able to scrounge up some double sided tape for a quick fix until I could get home to stitch it back up.
4. Dryer Sheets– I am the Queen of Static Cling. No joke. I wear skirts and dresses to work often, and I usually wear tights with them. I have some serious issues with dresses riding up and sticking to my tights. How embarrassing! A quick fix that I’ve found is rubbing a dryer sheet all over my tights and the inside of my dress to zap the static. It’s also great for getting rid of static in your hair too! (Plus they smell great!)
What are your emergency must-haves?
