I don’t know about you but this winter I feel paler than EVER and I am not one to go sit in a tanning bed multiple times a week. And with it being NYFW & all who really has time to do that?? SO I decided to do a Target haul and figure out which self tanners can help subdue this paleness.
I gave three a try; Body Expertise Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion by L’Oreal, Build-A-Tan by Neutrogena & Natural Glow Revitalizing Lotion by Jergens. Each racking in under $10.
I found the Sublime Bronze to be the most striking-maybe if I wasn’t so pale the color wouldn’t be so dramatic but I was almost orange. Luckily I tried it out on my legs and its freezing here so I didn’t have to worry about people noticing. But I do feel like I have used this before in the summer (when I’m acutally tan) & the results were not as drastic. I guess I’m just too pale in the winter for this specific sunless tanner. The Build-A-Tan was the lotion I was most pleased with. The color was subtle but after two uses my arms weren’t the ghostly white they were to begin with, and the color was natural-no orangey tint. Then there is the Jergens… color wise the Jergens works great however the smell and glitter in the lotion I’m not a fan of. I was seriously shimmering…like body glitter shimmering.
Always remember when using self tanners-WASH YOUR HANDS! Otherwise you’ll have some carrot looking fingers! :)

If you’ve got pale skin an instant tanning mousse with 6 or 9% dha (Dihydroxyacetone) would be great for you. A lower percentage of dha means the tan won’t orange and should fade like a natural tan. You should take a look at the sunless tanning mousse made by OMG.
What’s up, just wanted to mention, I enjoyed this post. It was funny. Keep on posting!
